Introducing The New After-School Equestria Therapeutic Riding & Horse Education Program For Children With Disabilities
 
 
   There is a great need for an After-School therapeutic riding program for children with disabilities living in the New York Metropolitan Area & Westchester. In order to fill this important need, the New York Therapeutic Riding Center has expanded its programs to include the new After-School Equestria Therapeutic Riding & Horse Education Program for children with disabilities.
   It is widely recognized by health care professionals that therapeutic horseback riding plays a vital role in special education, recreation and rehabilitation programs for disabled children.
The benefits of therapeutic riding for children with disabilities occur on the following levels :
1/ Cognitive Level
* Improved communication skills, attention span, concentration and critical thinking skills
2/ Psycho-Social Level
* Increased confidence, self-esteem, self-control, and social interactions
3/ Physical Level
* Improved balance, posture, coordination and mobility
The disabilities of the children to be served by our After-School Equestria Therapeutic Riding & Horse Education Program include:
ADD/ADHD Autism Learning Disabilities
Blindness Cerebral Palsy Developmental Disabilities
   During the course of the new After-School Equestria Therapeutic Riding & Horse Education Program, as students, children will be taught the equestrian skills needed to become good riders, while horseback riding activities are being used to facilitate specific educational and therapeutic goals.
    We are now scheduling classes for our After-School Program that will be starting shortly. To register your child for this program, please Email your completed student application to our Administrative Offices at: applications@eqstudents.com or send the completed application by regular mail to the address provided at the bottom of this page.

Dr David Feldman is Chief of Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases
   It's widely recognized by health care professionals that our Equestria program is playing a vital role in the rehabilitation of children with many types of disabilities.
   Dr. David Feldman is one of the country's leading specialists in the field of pediatric orthopedic surgery.
   For many years, Dr. Feldman has prescribed the Equestria Program for the rehabilitation of his pediatric patients at NYU Langone Medical Center's Hospital for Joint Diseases.
   During 2011 we asked Dr. Feldman to express his views on the importance of the Equestria Program from his unique medical perspective. In response, Dr. Feldman was kind enough to allow us to interview him on-camera.
